How much does Compulsory Basic Training cost?
  £90.00 on your own bike
What do I need to wear when riding the motorcycle?
  The following clothing is required:
  • Long denim trousers or material of equivalent durability
  • Gloves that cover the fingers and wrist
  • Sturdy shoes or boots that cover the ankle (no spike heels, platform shoes or cloth shoes)
  • A long sleeve jacket
  • Eye protection (sunglasses, eye glasses, goggles, and/or face shield)
  • Rain gear if needed. You will ride rain or shine. If it rains and you do not have proper rain gear we can lend you some.
Do you supply motorcycles?
  Yes. For a hire charge, We can supply 50 cc scooters, 125cc or 500cc bikes
Do I need a helmet?
  We have helmets if you need one, or you are free to bring your own
How old do I have to be to learn to ride?
  You must be at least 16 years old. You must also:
  • Be in good health
  • Be able to ride a bicycle
  • Understand basic written and oral English
What size bikes do you use?
  We use 50cc, 125cc and 500cc training motorcycles.
Do I have to be a certain height?
  We have no minimum height restrictions, however:
  • Riders are required to be able to touch both feet to the ground while straddling the motorcycle
  • Riders must also be able to hold the bike up when stopping or walking the motorcycle
  • We have motorcycles with low seats suitable for people who need to be closer to the ground
Can I ride my own bike (or scooter)?
  For the C.B.T. Course:
  • Students can use their own motorcycle, as long as you hold the correct licence
  • Current registration and proof of insurance (minimum required by law) will need to be provided prior to training
  • The motorcycle must also be in mechanically sound condition and fitted with legal sized L plates
What happens if I'm late or don't show for a course?
  Courses start promptly! This is a set program and students are not allowed to arrive late. If you were to arrive late you would lose your course fee.
What's the pass rate?
 

Heathrow Motorcycle Training Centre has a 93% pass rate with our students. Not everyone completes the course the first time.
